I paint in my own manner, from abstract to realistic. I might wake up and feel driven to paint a floral piece with purely whimsical brush strokes or perhaps replicate an image with the precision of a fine camera. I have no preferences, really—in painting, drawing, or any art form the reward is in the process, in the creation—just like in my garden—touching the brushes, mixing the paints, smelling the turpentine. For me, it’s all about the moment-to-moment experience, the blurring of subject and object; it’s about being lost in something I truly love.
